each day a drop and you made an ocean.

,

This blog contains the following points-

  1. What is journal writing?

  2. Why should you do it?

  3. How and when should you do it?

  • Online apps

  • Offline/ traditional methods

  1. What is the impact of journal writing?

Q.Why should you do journal writing?

Are you an overthinker or always confused? Do you always get lost in your thoughts? Then definitely you should give it a go.

While you write an entry, you get to know yourself even better. It’s a path of self-discovery.

  • Gives you clarity and directions.

  • Introspect- You get to know yourself even more as more feelings are explored.

  • Lightheartedness- Your heavy heart suddenly becomes light,  because you have jotted down all emotions on paper.

  • Objects in the mind appear to be bigger than they actually are. So you write and clear your vision.

Q.How and when should you do it?

Let me answer the second half first.

When- Anytime of the day but before 12.00 midnight. Add this in your routine. And according to my personal experience write your entry when you are at the seventh cloud or write it at your lowest time of the day.

Now the first half,

How-  There are various online apps for android as well as ios you can use to write your journal.

I like to keep it simple, so I use the inbuilt IOS app ‘notes’.

These are the minimum points to remember when you are start journaling-

  • Each entry must have a date and time.

  • Write daily

  • Be true to yourself

For offline journaling-  There are a variety of journals available in the market with a versatile range of layouts and aesthetics , you can use any. Or you can keep it simple by using a normal notebook. Just write the date and time. And boom you are ready!

The final and most important- Impact of journaling

  • Improves writing skills- By each passing day your writing skills will improve and you’ll be able to see the changes.

  • Self-awareness- when you revisit the pages of your journal, you will be surprised to know how you evolved. How the old version of yourself was crying over a stupid thing. The changes you have undergone will become visible to you.

  • Develops good memory power.

  • You will be able to follow a routine.

If you have stayed till the end of the blog, I have a bonus point for you.

Gratitude journaling- Daily write 3 things you are grateful for and see the change in 15 days.

So I’ll go first. Today I’m grateful for:-

  1. This blog

  2. My family

  3. And the one who’s reading this :)
