How to Overcome Self-Doubt

 We all must have gone through or are going through a self-doubting stage. You start to question yourself, your choices, your personality, your career, maybe even your dressing sense list goes on and on….  You also have low self-esteem. 

Overcoming self-doubt cannot happen in one night, this requires persistent optimism and not giving up attitude. 



I have some self-tried tips which may help you to overcome self-doubt. You can always consult a professional for this.   


  1. Make your quality list


For the next 15 days daily write two qualities of yourself. 

Doing this at night helps more than doing it in the morning because you can analyze yourself throughout the day and then jot down the qualities you identified during the whole day. By the end of the 15th day you will have 30 qualities of yourself. This will help you boost confidence and move ahead. You can also try journal writing.



  1. Shun negativity


By this I mean avoid staying with people who bring a pessimistic approach to your life. For instance-Your one friend is always complaining about how you dress or how you speak, it’s high time you avoid these kinds of people. Even people who always give negative remarks. Stay away and see the difference in you.


  1. Buddy talk


There are times when our friends know us better than we know ourselves.

Talk to your trusted friend. Share what you feel. Their feedback is not the ultimate solution but you will have an idea about your personality and even if a simple talk may reduce your self-doubt to 1% it’s worth trying!! TRUST ME.


  1. Optimistic approach


If you are too lazy to wake up and say words of affirmation to yourself then say it while laying down only. Be like- Yesss I’ll do it today at any cost! Appreciate yourself while you are in bed struggling to wake up. Always say to yourself, to your body, to your mind. Yes I look pretty today!! This is going to be a wave of positivity in your life. Even if you are having a bad day just speak good to yourself and see the miracle happening. 


  1. Do what you are good at


This is crucial. People who suffer from self-doubt stop doing the things they are good at. Keep doing the things you are good at. This will eventually boost your confidence and you’ll see you are getting better at handling things.


  1. Look around you


Look at your friends, your family members and everyone around you. You’ll see some positive energy and good qualities. Remember this- they are with you because you all have similar things. You all share the same good qualities. Make them your source of inspiration


As a bonus point I’ll add


  1. Flashback


Turn and look back from where you came, what you did to reach this point. You know it was not easy but you made it through hell and you can make it through several hells again. Just look back and appreciate your journey, your achievements, your people, your flaws and life. You will not doubt yourself but you will be proud of yourself.
